What’s your mission/your why
My mission is to allow more people than ever before to experience the outdoors, and provide quality products to those seeking adventure.
What makes your product different than the competition?
My product offers increased storage and versatility via modularity while still maintaining the key features had by those in competition
Who is your target audience?
The target audience is anyone with a truck in the overland community or those seeking to be a part of the overland community
What do they care about?
Overlanders seek high level off road adventure in the open country and strong community, and with that they value durability and reliability over anything else, and with that they are willing to spend the extra penny to make sure their equipment can be trusted.
What will they be drawn to?
They’ll be drawn to a personable brand, well versed in the ins and outs of the overland scene, that offers a strong versatile product willing to stand the test of time.
Got drawers and half-counters shaped out. Got both sides of the drawer down, and to size. Moved on to the half-counter and have that layout completed so now its a matter of filling out the insides and figuring out the access points to reach the storage within. Next up I’ll layout the full counters and once that’s completed I can move on to the nitty gritty details. So deciding which corners to soften, what the drawer itself will look like structurally, adding a lid solution to the drawer, access point to the rear of the sheath, and deciding how they’ll be textured and whether that’ll be sorted on the modeling or surfacing side.
Also got some potential logo designs and color options to move forward with. Have a set of both logos and marks that are all quite viable on their own, so at this point its a matter of wittling down to the ideal candidate. I also took some of my favorite and configured them into a lockup to see how they flow that way. Also narrowed it down to 4 opitons as far as colors go and would be happy to move forward with any of them
I also got to meet with former roommate who is now deep into the entrepreneurial world. He’s one of the founders of Cloudbox (link to website), a smart container with built in technology. During his time doing this he’s gained numerous connections and is working to line me up for discussions with seasoned product designers so I can pick their mind about the product design and production/manufacturing process. He also has a patent lawyer he swears by that I may be able to work with in the future.
